Dr Feelgood - Waiting For Saturday Night

(john crippen aka johnny guitar/dave tice)

Well my baby went and left me for another man because I could not save a cent
She got up, got out, got all her possessions and down the road she went
I don't mind if I lose my baby cos I'm alright alone
She said don't call me, I'll call you but I haven't got a telephone.

Waiting for saturday night
Waiting for saturday night
That's how I got through school
Leaving work is cool
Waiting for saturday night

Juke box jenny standing in the corner searching for another dime
All dressed up and ready to go, if I had money I would make her mine
Working like a dog all week long I got the money in my hand
I can pay my bills, I can buy some pills but I'm going to see a rock n' roll band.

Waiting for saturday night
Waiting for saturday night
That's how I got through school
Leaving work is cool
Waiting for saturday night

Saturday night, saturday night
I've been waiting all week for
Saturday night, saturday night

- solo -

I've been waiting all week for
Saturday night, saturday night

Juke box jenny standing in the corner searching for another dime
All dressed up and ready to go, if I had money I would make her mine
Working like a dog all week long I got the money here in my hand
I can pay my bills, I can buy some pills but I'm going to see a rock n' roll band.
